What to expect

Camden Market is a cluster of connected markets around Camden Lock on Regent's Canal. It grew from a weekly Sunday craft market in 1974 and now fills old stables and canal-side buildings. Around 250,000 people visit every week, so it can be very crowded.

Each part has its own feel. Camden Lock is known for crafts and food, the Stables Market for clothing, furniture and alternative-culture shops, and Buck Street and Inverness Street are more about clothes and quick bites. Fast food from many countries is a big part of the visit. Chain stores are not allowed in the Stables Market, so it feels more independent than a typical high street.
